Springtime Ideas

E-mail Print PDF

It’s Springtime...

Here are a few suggestions to help you get into the swing of spring!

Catch a little spring fever and during spring break...
Watch for whales, butterflys, and birds in their spring migration, some ending in your own backyard.

Experience spring lambs on the farm, a springbok giving birth at the zoo, and the springpeeper, shrilling from high atop the tree.

Enjoy spring showers that bring spring flowers--fields of tulips, daffodils, and iris--hilltops of violets, shooting stars, and ladyslippers.

With warmer days and sunnier skies, plant a garden of yummy spring vegetables.
Fly a kite at a windy beach high above the springtide.

Join in celebrating the spring cherry blossom festivals, from Washington D.C. to Kyoto, Japan.

Hike among the forests of budding trees as the springwood begins to grow.  Discover a bubbling spring, once hidden by snow.

Even though we are not all spring chickens, we can still spring into action, and enjoy some of the activities and sites that spring brings.

Spring-a-head, summer is not far behind...
