Backyard Vacations

E-mail Print PDF

Summertime Fun

    ...being together is a vacation!

Family vacations don’t always mean packing up the kids and heading for the open road. Sometimes traveling no farther than your own backyard can be a wonderful family adventure!

Vacation... a period of rest from work and routine with plenty of imaginative play!

Join the kids in planning activities for your own Camp Backyard!  Pitch a tent and have picnics; find constellations in the night’s sky; plant a garden of colorful flowers or yummy veggies; see how many birds you can identify, build a fort and hang a tree swing, act out a scene from Tom Swayer with costumes and props; invent a new cookie recipe; enter a game-a-thon; discover a new park; be a tourist and visit sites in your own city... the possibilities are endless.  Just, make time to be together...

    Happy Vacationing!
