Snowmass Resort, Snowmass Village, Colorado  
    “A Mountain of Family Fun” is what you’ll find on Aspen Mountain, southwest of Denver, along with four ski areas on 3,000 acres, within 12 miles of each other. Summer play among wildflowers, lush forests and gorgeous scenery. (see winter ‘97 issue, Angels in Aspen)
    Activities & Entertainment:  Winter: Skiing, ice skating, snowboarding, dogsledding, snowshoe tours, cross-country skiing, sleigh rides, snowmobiling, and hot-air ballooning.  Films, concerts, and plays.  Summer: Hiking, mountain biking (lift-served), whitewater, rafting, horseback riding, kayaking, fishing, hot-air ballooning, jeep tours, golfing, tennis, fishing, historical sites, wildlife watching, scenic drives, and gondola rides up Aspen Mountain.  The renowned Aspen Music Festival, Community Theater, and Dance Festival.  Snowmass’s Theater Festival and Ander-son Ranch Arts Center.
     Just for Kids:  Winter: Snow Cubs--full day play program for 6 weeks to 31/2 year olds; Big Burn Bears--full day ski/play program for 31/2-4 year olds; Grizzlies--full day ski program for 5-6 year olds; Bears on Boards--full day snowboard program for 5-7 years. Ski programs for 7-12 years and snowboard instruction for 8-12 years, plus ski & snowboard teen program for 13-19 year olds.  Additional ski schools at Buttermilk and Highland ski areas. Summer: Camp Snowmass is a full day summer program for 5-12 year olds (hiking, nature walks, swimming, horseback riding, overnights).
      Accommodations: Snowmass Lodge and Club offers hotel and condominium lodging. From $110-$695.  Find several more hotels and condominium complexes in Snowmass as well as many lodging possibilities in Aspen. Packages available.

Sunriver Resort, Sunriver, Oregon  
     Here you’ll find plenty of sun and outdoor sports--year-round!  Set in Central Oregon, amid the Deschutes National Forest, along the Deschutes River, and within 20 minutes of Mount Bachelor Ski Area.
    Activities & Entertainment:  Winter: Skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, ice skating, sleigh rides, snowmobiling, snowshoeing.  Summer: Golf, tennis, racquet ball, swimming, canoeing rafting, kayaking, fishing, bike paths, horseback riding, hiking, backpacking, nature walks, lectures, archaeology tours, spelunking at Lava River Cave, Challenge Ropes Course and Orienteering Course.  Sunriver Music Festival.
     Just for Kids: Winter: Kid’s Klub on weekends for 3-10 year olds.  Mount Bachelor offers Daycare--full day play program from 6 weeks, including Snow Play--half day ski and play program for 3 year olds; Mountain Masters--full day ski and snowboard programs for 4-12 year olds; Mountain Dew--full day ski and snowboard programs for 10-18 year olds.  Summer: Kid’s Klub is a full day program for 3-10 year olds.  Guided Adventures for 11-15 years.  Teen Time for 13-19 year olds (Nature study, crafts, golfing, canoeing, and rock climbing).  Evening programs available. Baby sitting can be arranged.

Angel Fire Resort Angel Fire, New Mexico
    Nestled in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of northern New Mexico, this resort’s some 20,000 acres offers many year-round activities.

    In Maine’s beautiful Longfellow Mountain range, you’ll find lots of summer activities to enjoy on the resort’s 1400 acres of forest, lakes and rivers.  New England’s biggest ski mountain brings plenty of winter fun.
