A "Mushing" Good Time at Wintergreen Dogsled Lodge
It's a tail-waggin' adventure for all ages.

    Relive the adventures of “Ironwill,” as your team of friendly Canadian Inuit sled dogs, eagerly whisks you off through the Boundary Waters Wilderness Area of Minnesota. Wintergreen Dogsled Lodge director Paul Schurke and his family will guide you through this beautiful winter wonderland, with chance sightings of timber wolves, bald eagles, moose, and black bear.
    First, meet your dog
team, thThe Eskimo dogs are the highlight of this adventure.en, with instruction in the mushing technique and a little practice... you’ll head off for a trial run!  This breed of sled dog loves to run and pull.
    You’ll learn other ama
zing facts about your team of Inuit dogs, “Olympic athletes with lots of personality,” then, you’re welcome to take part in their harness, handle, feed, anFind 65 Canadian Inuit Dogs at the Lodge. And, get ready, they live to pull. d care.
      Enjoy comfy wilderness cabins with sauna or hot tub and scrumptious m
eals. Evenings bring fireside chats of Northwood stories, wildlife programs on the endangered wolf and black bear, and Paul’s adventures in the Arctic. Relax, admire the stars, and possibly even view colorful northern lights.
    A variety of Dogsled trips, including day trips, overnight camping and special child/parent trips are available. Snowshoe and cross country skiing is also available along with visits to Ely's International Wolf Center.
