Tips, Tricks, & Tactics

• The hotel or inn concierge...your help with anything and everything.  Rely on your concierge to recommend shops, eateries, theater tickets, nannies--they will know where to go when all else fails.

• Always get seating confirmation at time of booking airline tickets to assure that you’re not bumped due to overbooking.

• When packing for your vacation, include a few items of clothing for everyone in each suitcase... that way if one of the bags is lost, everyone will still have something to wear.

• When traveling with children and you need to stay over-night, find a motel/hotel with a swimming pool.  This is a fun way to wind down after a long day on the road.

• Involve the kids in the navigational process of your trips, they’ll feel helpful as well as learn new skills.

• Children of all ages love a variety of snacks and drinks while traveling.  These special treats can be entertaining and healthy as well as filling.

• Cruises make for wonderful family reunions because there are activities that appeal to many interests.  The costs are very reasonable now; be sure to ask about large group discounts.

• Pack a large plastic bag to put dirty clothes in while on vacation.  This way they won’t get lost or mixed in with clean clothes.  It’s also convenient if you need to plan a laundry day.
