High Seas Adventures
...downriver sojourns and lake frolics are sure to be family vacation winners!

Whether aboard a traditional cruise ship, smaller eco-cruise, chartered sailboat, riverboat, barge, or houseboat--chances are you and the family will be back for more!
In these floating “homes away from home,”  you can unpack once and stay put for the duration of the trip.  However, each day brings new scenery, exciting ports- of-call, and exotic places often otherwise inaccessible.
Listed below is a sampling of floating home adventures.  After deciding what you’re looking for in a vacation, research further to best match your family’s wants and needs.

Cruise Ships...

Within these cruise lines are ships ranging in size from 800 to over 3000 passengers; they offer diverse itineraries, a multitude of destinations, and a variety of activities and amenities.  Ideas to consider before selecting a specific ship:
First decide where, when, and how long you’d like to cruise, then what shore tours interest you.  Air costs will depend on what port the ship sails from.  What is the size, sleeping arrangement, and location of the cabin(s) that best suit your family?  Are there favorite activities for all and as a family together?  If you want children’s programs--do they operate during your planned cruise and without having a minimum number of kids signed on?  Also, consider the age groups, counselor ratio, cruise/port hours, facilities, safety, and shore programs.  Is babysitting available and what is the minimum age of child to travel?  Do the restaurants have children’s menus, are there informal eateries?  Are cribs, high chairs, strollers for shore excursions available?  Is there adequate medical services aboard?
Your travel agent can help select the right cruise for your family, and, in most cases book it at a savings.
