Go on Safari in Texas

E-mail Print PDF

See Giraffes, Zebras & Rhinos...
on a wildlife reserve in Texas

Enjoy many up-close moments with exotic animals on this Safari in Texas. Oh my!  Get up close and feed exotic animals roaming free on the Texas savannah. Fossil Rim Wildlife Center near Ft. Worth, offers several wildlife-packed safaris for families. The park contains thousands of animals from five continents including native species and many endangered animals.  Choose from a variety of guided tours or drive your own vehicle on the 9.5 mile drive through some 1800 acres, scattered with herds of wildebeest, antelope and deer, frolicking zebras, lumbering giraffe, curious ostrich and friendly llamas. Take along a bag of wildlife feed for that chance encounter. At The Overlook, hike along the Nature Trail, refresh at the cafe, then view the cheetahs, ocelots, rhinos and wolves.  Plan for more pictures at the petting pasture. At day’s end your family can retire to the Africa Safari Lodge or the Foothill Safari Cabins. Watch the sun set behind a herd of antelope drinking at the nearby water hole.  After breakfast, tour behind the scenes with your own naturalist guide in an open-air vehicle to see even more exotic animals.
